This Has to Be Said

I can't tell you how many times clients or anyone who knows about my decluttering mission says, “Oh! Your house must be perfect all the time!" To which I reply by laughing maniacally. 🤣

No. No, no. My house is far from perfect most of the time. Because we live here! Many of us are living here all the time. I have three kids here, a dog, a husband and myself. I have a fourth kid, a granddaughter, and a grand dog who spend a lot of time here.

Most of the creatures living here don't care about my minimalist aspirations. There is unnecessary crap left on my kitchen counter and my kitchen table most of the time. I am a self-proclaimed slob! I have a tipping point and then the mess makes me crazy enough that I must clean it up, but until then there is usually stuff lying around and life happening.

What is the point of this? Well - number one-you need to understand that if you are living life and there are multiple people in your home, “perfect all the time" IS NOT A REASONABLE GOAL. You will go insane. The most you can hope for while staying sane in your home is MANAGEABLE.

This is my second point and my goal for you! My home is mostly manageable. I always have a low level radar on what we are no longer using and what could be donated or trashed so that decluttering is just a regular part of life.

My house is usually a ‘mess’, but it is rarely out of control. I can usually pull it together in under an hour if something crazy happens like full blown entertaining of guests.

My job is not to try to get you to ‘perfect all the time’, but I would love to help you get to manageable.
